Northeastern hosted Boston University Wednesday night it the penultimate divisional matchup for the season. The Huskies walked away with a 5-2 win after an up and down performance.

The Huskies were able to develop attacks early in the game, putting the BU back line under pressure. Northeastern would open scoring early in the first half with Ben Fargiano rattling a header into the crossbar and Henry Mouawad following up the attempt, chesting in a goal for the center-back. Northeastern would soon add to their tally as center-forward Jackson Neal took a ball from the right side, turned on the back line and drove into the box, cutting inside and then back out, before hammering home a shot in the top right corner. Northeastern attacking mid Ari Kantorowitz would follow this up with a goal of his own. Left winger Dan Mattar pressured the BU back line, deflecting a clearance from BU which dropped, bouncing, to Kantorowitz. Kantorowitz took a volley off his laces from the top-left of the 18-yard box. The shot dipped with power into the bottom left corner, giving the BU keeper no chance. The first half effort was capped off by Kanotorowitz again pressuring the BU defensive with penetrative dribbling and slotting home a goal for Northeastern to go up 4-0.

Northeastern put together a lackluster opening to the second half. After some suspect play from the Huskies, BU was able to squeak away with 2 goals of their own. Northeastern was not without chances of their own. Center-forward Jackson Neal saw a shot launch off his left foot from the top of the box just passed the post, as well as several headers that nearly connected. Despite the chances, Northeastern struggled to finish. Late in the game, freshman Jon Piesik made a great run down the right wing, provided sublime service into the center, and saw his cross cooly finished by Dan Ryvkin from the middle of the box. From that point on, Northeastern calmly finished out the match.

Northeastern travels to Brown for their final divisional game Saturday.
