FAQ

How will I know if I make the team?

Within 24 hours of tryouts ending, prospective players will receive an email from neuclubsoccer@gmail.com notifying them that they either are invited to the following tryout or have made the team. Players who do not receive an email are not invited to join the team but are encouraged to continue playing recreationally and to tryout the following year.

How many new players are added to the team each year?

Usually 5-10.

What do you look for in a player?

We look for players who train hard, have strong technical ability, clearly understand the game/learn quickly, and demonstrate commitment to the team. We also evaluate players on the basis of positions in need.

What do tryouts consist of?

Tryouts typically consist of small-sided matches, possession exercises, and fitness.

How often do you practice/play?

We practice 2-3 times per week and play every weekend throughout the Fall semester.

Do you offer scholarships?

No. As a member of NIRSA, we – and all member teams – are not allowed to offer financial scholarships.

What playing level is the team comparable to?

We compare our club to a NCAA Division III team, as all of our players have extensive playing experience and many of our players were either recruited by NCAA Division III colleges or formerly played on the Northeastern Varsity Team.
